11/18/08

Today was a tough day. I finally made it back to work after my first round of chemo last Monday. I have to say that I have never felt as loved as I have today. The people that I work with are just incredible. Needless to say, today was also my last day of work for some time.I have finally reached the realization that I can not fight this battle and continue to work. The time has come for me to shift my focus onto myself. This is a hard one for me.
On the other hand, I must say that my neighbors have been just as amazing. Dinner has been delivered to our door almost every night since this whole thing started with such concern and sincerity. Family dinnertime has always been really important to us but without them, this would have been just one more thing that was put on the back burner!
THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!!

Hi KayBee,

We miss you dearly but taking care of "you" is much more important...
We wish nothing but the best for you and your family and want you to know we are here if you need anything...
They say laughter is the best medicine so I'm sending you a joke everyday!!!
Love Always, Paul & Stacy
Two 90 year olds had been dating for a while, when the man told the woman, "Well, tonight's the night we have sex!"
And so they did.
As they are lying in bed afterward, the man thinks to himself, "My God, if I knew she was a virgin, I would have been much more gentle with her!"
And the woman was thinking to herself, "My God, if I knew the old geezer could actually get it up, I would have taken off my panty hose!"

Hi Kay
I love your blog!
I missed you today while I was driving to work so I just said a prayer for your recovery and thought about all of the laughs that we have had while carpooling! (The Shell Gas Station is selling at $1.79!!)
Stay strong!
Love ya!

Hi Kay!
We miss you at school already! I'll miss hanging out in detention with you (since that's one of the only times I got to see you!!), but I'm glad you are able to take some time off.

Dear Kay,
I am so glad that you are going to take time to take care of YOU! For so long, you have taken such wonderful care of everyone else..your family, your friends, your students...now it's time to focus all of that care on yourself. You are a strong woman with a GREAT outlook on life. I think of you all the time and know you are going to be a-ok! Again, if there's ANYTHING you need, we are there for you and the family.

Love,
Alissa

Hi Kay, glad to hear all is well with you...
Heres your joke of the day...

The kindergarten kids were now in the first grade. Their teacher wanted them to use more grown up words and sentences when they speak since they were no longer in kindergarten. She told them to use grown up words instead of baby words. She then asked them to tell her what they did during the summer.

The first little one said he went to see his “Nana”.

The teacher said, “No, No, you went to see your grandmother.” Use the grown up word.

The next little one said she went for a trip on a “cha-cha. ”

The teacher again said, “No, No, you went on a trip on a train.” That’s the grown up word.

Then the teacher asked the third little one what he did during the summer. He proudly stated that he read a book. The teacher asked what book he had read.

He puffed out his chest and in a very adult way replied
“Winnie the Shit.”
