I am finally coming around. All I can say is that chemo is some tough stuff! Yesterday was the first day since treatment that I actually was up and about. Mike and Loretta took all our kids to the movies so Dan and I actually went and did some Christmas shopping. It felt so good to see the outside world if only for a little bit.
Thanksgiving was very nice. I slept most of the day but Dan did an incredible job of making the day special for the kids. We had a great dinner. Dan played football with the kids and even took them for a nice walk in the woods. It was different and we certainly missed our usual Thanksgiving guests.
I think that most all of my hair has fallen out by now. Yesterday my goal was to get dressed, put on makeup and my wig. Well... I got as far as the wig and realized that I am not sure if this wig thing is for me.. I feel like I am getting dressed up for Halloween. ( That's what I get for wearing all those wigs to Deb and Kens parties) I feel much more comfortable in a bandana and hat. Oh well!

Carl was home for the extended weekend but is headed back to Lehigh today. He has one more week of regular classes than a study week then finals. He will be home again on Dec. 12th. PAul & Nadia had a nice Turkey Day with Nadia's family...we missed seeing them to but That's life. So glad that you are getting your rest and making the most of your better days. We Love You. Mair

Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?'
Slim says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.'
'Really? Like a newborn baby!?'
'Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'
Kay,
Just a quick note from Colleen, Kevin and the boys wanting you to know we are praying for you. Please let us know if there is anything that you need. We are here for you. Remember, be your self. You will look much better in your bandana and your great smile than a wig and a frown! God Bless you and your family! Do not forget, you are a Moore and they don't give up!
Sincerely,
Colleen, Kevin and the boys
Glad to hear you are feeling a little better. Let me know if I can help in anyway with the kids.
You are doing a great job; keep it up! Hope to see you on Tuesday! Love Lydia
Hi Kay,
Just a little something I found online and thought I'd share with you:
What Cancer Cannot Do
Author: Unknown
Cancer is Limited,
It Cannot Cripple Love
It Cannot Shatter Hope
It Cannot Corrode Faith
It Cannot Destroy Peace
It Cannot Kill Friendship
It Cannot Suppress Memories
It Cannot Silence Courage
It Cannot Invade the Soul
It Cannot Steal Eternal Life
It Cannot Conquer the Spirit.
And I'm with Kevin, forget the wig - do what makes you feel good!
Wishing you a great day!
Love, Karen
Hi Kay,
It really sucked going back to work after 4 days off, but oh well, got to pay the bills... Hope you had a good day and and got some rest too...PaulMan...........
Girls night out
Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers, but was lucky enough to salvage a large ribbon from a wreath that was on a grave and proceeded to wipe herself with it. After finishing, they made their way home.
The next day the first woman's husband phones the other husband and said, "These damn girls nights out have got to stop. My wife came home last night without her panties." "That's nothing," said the other. "Mine came back with a sympathy card stuck between the cheeks of her butt that said, 'From all of us at the Fire Station, Well never forget you!'
HI Kay!
Just wanted you to know I've been thinking about you and your family. Glad to hear your turkey day was a good day. Keep your chin up as best you can, you will beat this I know it!!! In the short time I have known you, there is no doubt in my mind you are a strong individual and can do anything! Take this time to focus on yourself and your family. All of your friends will always be there for you. Get some rest and enjoy your kids!!! Your hubby too of course! Talk to you soon! Dawn
HI Kay,
As usual -- I miss you most when I get in the car to go to work and when I am getting into the car to return home. I should have paid you for the talk therapy!! (And...the price of gas...$1.69!)
Glad to hear that you have been out!
I am praying daily for your recovery and for God to give you the strength that you need to fight this battle!
Love ya (with or without the wig)
Anne
Kay, Dan & kids,
Hi. It's Ray and Tracy, we just heard and wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and if there is anything we can do, please let us know.
Hi Guys,
Kay, i just got to catch up on your blogs. it was very cool to log on and hear how you all are doing. i am glad to hear that your thanksgiving was good, ours was quiet too. mom, dad, linc, karlie and i all had breakfast together and then Karlie went to dannys about mid day to have dinner with them. dinner at moms was quiet without her but still fun and yummy. Travis sure looks silly in your wig. LOL i bet you look fine either way but i would totally just rock a hat and bandanna too. i am sure thats much more comfy. Kalrie and I just moved, we are still only a few miles away from mom and dad but in a nice roomy town house. i am looking forward to being settled and getting the maze of boxes out of the house. :) anyway, I love you so much and am thinking about you all!
Hi Kay
Didn't win in Vegas..so here I am back at work. Like you said only six more treatments to go. Keep laughing (that's the best medicine). I am sure there will be many more Thanksgivings to celebrate your way. You better keep in mind that when this is all over, Dan will probably sleep for a month, just to makeup for all the rest your getting (men are that way). Your family and friends will continue to give you the love and strength to push forward. We are here for you just let us know what we can do. I heard your trip with Deb was an experience. That's Deb! Keep us informed. Rest.
Miss Ya! Irene
Kay,
You've been in my thoughts. Sounds like you got a head start on your Christmas shopping, you have me beat..LOL! I did Hamilton Mall on "Black Friday" but only got a few things. Don't stress out about the hair; just think how great it's going to grow back in! Your family and friends love you the way you are, no hair, hair, wig, blonde, brunette, redhead, etc...LOL! You are a beautiful person inside and out. :) Tomorrow night is that Michael McDonald concert. I made reservations for Scott & I at the restaurant you and Karen had suggested to me. I'll let you know how it was. You're in my prayers daily Kay. You are very missed at work. The kids today asked if they could right you everday! They really miss you as well. Stay strong, you're bigger then this. :)
Love,
Kim
Hi Kay,
Well it's offical: I put the X-Mas tree up at school!!! Guess I'm finally in the mood to get the ball rolling for Christmas... Maybe I'll start decorating the house this weekend... Tomorrow is our X-Mas party and it won't be the same without you but we will definately make it up when you are feeling better...
Hope all is well, talk to you later

A teacher asks her class, ''If there are 5 birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?'' She calls on little Johnny.
''None, they all fly away with the first gunshot.''
The teacher replies, ''The correct answer is 4, but I like your thinking.'' Then Little Johnny says, ''I have a question for YOU. There are three women sitting on a bench having ice cream. One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream. The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone. The third is biting off the top of the ice cream. Which one is married?''
The teacher, blushing a great deal, replies, ''Well I suppose the one that's gobbled down the top and sucked the cone.''
''The correct answer is the one with the wedding ring on...but I like your thinking.''
Hi Kay,
Just got back from the X-Mas party... We had a pretty good time but it's still not the same without you...When you feel better, we should all get together... I can't wait to see you guys again....PaulMan..........

There is this lady and she is struggling having a baby so the doctor brings out these pills and he tells her each of these pills takes away a quarter of the pain, but sends it to the father of the baby.
So she takes one and her husband says "Women are wimps, I feel no pain"
Then she takes another and her husband says "Man this doesn't hurt."
So she takes, two more and has no problem having the baby and neither her nor her husband are in pain.
Two days later they come home with the baby and the milk man is dead on their doorstep...
HI Kay
Missed you tonight at Calloways! Thinking of you!
Stay strong and positive!
Love ya!
Anne
Hey Kay
Finally got a chance to respond to the recent entry...I know we've talked about it already but reading the blog puts it in the best form. We really had a great time at our impromptu brunch. It reminded me of the times we used to get together for game nights...we'll have to do that sometime. Just let me know if you feel up to it and I'll rally the troops, and bring the snacks. You sounded so good the other day. It always makes me give a huge sigh of relief...hang in there,
Love Aunt Mair
